UCO’s Classical KUCO and UCentral Radio to Share the Holiday Spirit on the Airwaves

The University of Central Oklahoma’s Classical KUCO 90.1 and student-operated radio station KZUC 99.3 FM, known as UCentral Radio, will ring in the season with holiday music. UCentral Radio will begin playing holiday music Nov. 29, and KUCO 90.1 will begin Dec. 2, switching to nonstop Dec. 19.

Additionally, Classical KUCO will present Handel's "Messiahin its entirety, uninterrupted, at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 19.

“At KUCO, we’re thrilled to share the joy of the holiday season through music that brings communities together,” said Jeff Hagy, KUCO general manager.

“Our holiday lineup is designed to celebrate timeless traditions and new interpretations alike, creating a rich, festive experience for our listeners.”

KUCO will also broadcast the live “Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols” from King’s College Chapel in the U.K. at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 24. This honored program has been broadcast every Christmas Eve to millions worldwide by the BBC since 1928, showcasing the King's College Choir’s celebrated tradition and international acclaim.

Classical KUCO is Oklahoma's sole public, locally programmed and hosted classical music station. In addition to its flagship station, it extends its reach with repeater stations in McAlester, Oklahoma, on 91.9 FM and Woodward, Oklahoma, on 95.9 FM.

Listeners can also enjoy the delightful holiday melodies by livestreaming Classical KUCO online via their kucofm.com website, iHeart and TuneIn, or through Alexa devices and free mobile apps available for both Google and Apple platforms.

UCentral Radio normally features Top 40 and adult contemporary music along with local news and sports content from Central’s mass communication students. UCO’s Department of Mass Communication and the UCentral student media network oversee the low-power FM station.

UCentral Radio will provide the audience with traditional holiday fare music on KUCO 90.1 HD2 channel and 99.3 FM, which is heard prominently in Edmond.

UCentral Radio is equally accessible to listeners. You can tune in via livestream at their website at ucentralradio.com or through popular platforms like TuneIn and Alexa devices.
