UCO to Host Native American Heritage Month Kickoff Event, Nov. 6

The University of Central Oklahoma’s Native American Student Association and the UCO Native American Faculty/Staff Association will host a Native American Heritage Month kickoff event at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Nigh University Center, Ballrooms A and B, on Central’s campus.

The event will feature a keynote address from Cornel Pewewardy, Ed.D., associate professor of political science at UCO, who was honored with the 2024 Outstanding Role Model Award at the Oklahoma Native American Students in Higher Education Conference earlier this year.

The event will also feature performances, including, Full Metal Jacket with lead singer Anthony Yahola, and traditional Three Sisters Soup and fry bread for the first 100 attendees.

This event is free and open to the public.
