UCO to Host Annual Cheer and Dance Competition, March 8
Feb. 25, 2025

The University of Central Oklahoma will host the 29th annual Cheer and Dance competition at 8 p.m., March 8, in Hamilton Field House, located on Central’s campus.
Cheer and Dance gives UCO students the opportunity to showcase their athletic abilities and talents through stunts, jumps, cheers and dances. What originally started as a one-night, homecoming event has now become a stand-alone event to amplify the university’s school spirit.
“Cheer and Dance is a cherished tradition at UCO that encourages healthy competition between our various student organizations,” said Ashley McKechnie, assistant director of new student and family programs at UCO.
“This event encourages students to get creative and wow the UCO and Edmond communities with fun performances that include dancing, stunting and cheering.”
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for lower-level, reserved seating and at 7 p.m. for general admission seating. Tickets range from $5-$10. Additionally, a limited number of free tickets are available in the upper-level stands.
Cheer and Dance T-shirts will be available for purchase at the event for $10, while supplies last. All proceeds benefit BronchoThon, a yearlong, philanthropic student organization that raises funds for the Children’s Health Foundation.
