UCO to Host Annual Central 5K During I Heart Central Week
March 11, 2026

The University of Central Oklahoma will host the annual Central 5K as part of I Heart Central Week, beginning at 8 a.m., Sunday, March 29, at the Blue Tent at Broncho Lake on Central’s campus.
This year’s event, themed “Ride the Wave 5K,” invites students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members to come together for a fun, casual run or walk around campus while celebrating Broncho Pride and the spirit of Central. The Central 5K has become a popular tradition during I Heart Central Week, offering participants an opportunity to connect with fellow Bronchos while supporting a meaningful cause.
Participants will follow a scenic route around campus, starting and ending near Broncho Lake. The event is open to runners and walkers of all experience levels, making it a welcoming opportunity for the entire campus and Edmond community to get involved.
All proceeds from the event will benefit BronchoThon, UCO’s student-led philanthropic organization that raises funds to support children and families through the Children’s Hospital Foundation. Through year-round fundraising efforts and events, BronchoThon helps provide critical resources, care and support for pediatric patients and their families.
Registration is free for UCO students and $10 for faculty, staff, alumni and community participants.
Participants are encouraged to register in advance at go.uco.edu/I-Heart-Central-5K.
