UCO Summer Band to Perform Free Concert in the Park as Part of LibertyFest, June 25
June 9, 2026

The University of Central Oklahoma School of Music's Summer Band will perform its annual Concert in the Park at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, June 25, on the lawn between Mitchell Hall Theatre and the Lillard Administration building on Central's campus.
The free, hour-long concert is part of LibertyFest, Edmond's annual Fourth of July celebration. The concert will feature a variety of marches, classics, patriotic music and a jazz arrangement of “Route 66” in recognition of the highway's centennial celebration.
“We are particularly excited about this year's concert and the wonderful band we have assembled—125 members strong,” said Marty Marks, D.M.A., conductor of the UCO Summer Band.
“We have wonderful depth in every section of the band, ranging from excellent, motivated students to top-tier professional musicians.”
Following the concert, attendees will be invited to enjoy complimentary ice cream. A limited number of folding chairs will be available; however, attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets for seating.
LibertyFest festivities will continue on the UCO campus with the return of the annual fireworks show Saturday, July 4. Recognized as one of the premier fireworks displays in the Oklahoma City metro area, the show is scheduled to begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. Community members are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.
