Isabel Tinsley, a junior actuarial science major at the University of Central Oklahoma, has been selected to serve on the 2027 Student Advisory Board for the Southeastern Greek Leadership Association (SGLA), becoming the first representative from Oklahoma to hold the position.

Tinsley was selected through a competitive application and interview process at the SGLA Annual Conference in Atlanta, where eight UCO fraternity and sorority student leaders represented the university. The conference brings together governing councils and campus leaders from across the Southeastern United States to collaborate on strengthening fraternity and sorority life through education, shared leadership and best practices.

A member of Alpha Gamma Delta and president of UCO’s Panhellenic Council, Tinsley is also involved in the President’s Leadership Council, Pom team, finance club and pre-law society. In her new role, she will work alongside higher education professionals to help plan and facilitate the 2027 SGLA Annual Conference, support outreach to more than 30 institutions and serve as a student facilitator during the event.

“I am excited and honored to be representing UCO on such a prestigious board and to serve alongside seven amazing representatives. I applied to this position because I wanted the opportunity to serve in leadership on a more national level, saw an area Oklahoma was not being represented and wanted to give our state a voice,” Tinsley said.

“I am honored to be the first Oklahoma representative on this board! I am looking forward to being back in Atlanta working with the team to continue growing Southeastern Greek life.”

Tinsley’s selection highlights the strength of UCO’s fraternity and sorority leadership and its continued presence at both the campus and regional levels. Through opportunities like SGLA, student leaders gain valuable experience that enhances their ability to lead organizations, represent their peers and contribute meaningfully to the broader sorority and fraternity life community.

UCO will host Greek Preview Day from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday, April 10, to give students interested in joining a fraternity or sorority a firsthand look at Greek life at UCO. To register or for more information about Greek Preview Day and fraternity and sorority life at UCO, visit go.uco.edu/greek.

The University of Central Oklahoma is a campus community in motion—leading, innovating and creating transformative learning opportunities that foster success for our students. As Oklahoma’s largest metropolitan university, we provide high-quality, nationally recognized programs that are always evolving and adapting to the needs of our students and the community. This commitment is rooted in our founding in 1890 as the state’s teacher’s college, training those who would educate the next generation of leaders and innovators. We remain dedicated to offering an accessible, affordable education, earning national accolades for social mobility, veterans’ outreach and first-generation student programs.

Guided by the motto “ubi motus est” – which translates to “where movement is” – the university continues to evolve and grow, offering 119 undergraduate and 81 graduate programs to our more than 12,000 students from our main campus in Edmond, Oklahoma, and facilities throughout the Oklahoma City metro. Our colors were the first adopted of any university in the state, and our Bronze and Blue symbolize our greatest strengths—the illumination of new ideas and the endless expanse of a clear sky above. At UCO, anything is possible.
