UCO School of Design Dominates Student Awards at OKC ADDYs
March 4, 2025

The University of Central Oklahoma School of Design brought home 35 total awards, 32 of the 50 student awards and three special awards, presented at the 2025 Oklahoma City American Advertising Awards (ADDYs).
Central design students picked up 16 gold, 11 silver and five bronze awards for their work. The university also swept the special judges awards.
Madison Howe, a senior graphic design major from Oklahoma City, won the Best of Show – Student Award for their package design “Merry Go Rolls.” Trenten Watkins, a junior graphic design major from Oklahoma City, won the Special Judges Layout – Student Award for their book design “War of the Worlds” and Lan Nguyen, a senior graphic design major from Oklahoma City, won the Special Judges Package Design – Student Award for their package design “Tropi.”
Additionally, UCO received the BRAGGY Award for the 15th consecutive year, which is awarded to the university with the most winners. Gold ADDY winners will move forward to compete in the district 10 regional competition, followed by the National American Advertising Federation Awards.
“Once again, the local design community recognizes the high caliber of UCO graphic design students and the work they produce while in our program. This is especially important as many of our students remain in the area after graduation and the ADDY awards are the perfect opportunity to showcase their design skills to future employers," said Valerie Settles, Ph.D., director of the UCO School of Design.
“Our students have changed the face of the professional workplace in Oklahoma City and beyond, and we are so proud of all they’ve accomplished. It is a special accolade that senior Madison Howe was awarded Best in Show—a significant achievement among all the fantastic student work produced from all local universities.”
