UCO Public Health Programs Earn Prestigious National CEPH Accreditation

The University of Central Oklahoma’s College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) has earned accreditation from the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) for its Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Master of Public Health programs, recognizing the university's commitment to excellence in public health education and preparing graduates to meet today's evolving workforce needs.
CEPH is an independent agency established to accredit schools of public health and public health programs outside schools of public health. The accreditation process evaluates programs against rigorous national standards related to curriculum, faculty qualifications, student support, community engagement and continuous quality improvement.
This recognition affirms the strength of UCO’s public health programs and its commitment to preparing students with the knowledge, skills and applied experiences needed to address today’s public health challenges.

"Our graduates leave UCO equipped with the knowledge, practical experience and compassion needed to improve the health and well-being of communities across Oklahoma and beyond."
Community engagement is a defining focus of UCO’s public health programs. Students gain hands-on experience working alongside community members and partners to address real-world health issues and develop practical, community-informed solutions.

Our faculty, staff, students and alumni have built truly exceptional programs that not only meet national standards but also respond directly to the needs of our region,” said Bryan Duke, dean of CEPS.
UCO’s public health program emphasizes evidence-based practice, systems thinking, effective policy and meaningful engagement with communities. Graduates are equipped with versatile skills that prepare them for careers in government agencies, health care systems, nonprofit organizations, private industry and other public health settings.
By achieving CEPH accreditation, UCO joins a select group of institutions nationwide recognized for delivering high-quality public health education that prepares graduates to improve their communities' health and well-being.
