UCO Melton Gallery to Showcase 'Welcome Hope,' Sept. 3-Nov. 7
Aug. 20, 2024
The Melton Gallery at the University of Central Oklahoma will present "Welcome Hope," a semi-immersive art exhibition, Sept. 3–Nov. 7. The unique experience encourages visitors to explore, create and connect through interactive and hands-on activities. An opening reception will be from 1-4 p.m., Sept. 26, featuring an ice-cream social and an opportunity for visitors to engage with fellow creators at the Melton Gallery in the UCO Art and Design building on Central's campus.
"Welcome Hope" is designed to foster creativity and community engagement, inviting participants of all ages to contribute to a collective artistic expression. Unlike traditional exhibitions, this experience emphasizes participation, allowing each visitor's input to shape the environment, resulting in a space filled with inspiration and hope.
"We're excited to welcome our students, faculty, staff and the community back to campus this fall with this experience," said Keri Smith, curator of the Melton Gallery.
"With everything happening in the world, we want to offer something that would bring joy and hope through art. This exhibition represents our commitment to nurturing artistic expression and fostering a sense of belonging for everyone on campus."
