UCO Faculty and Staff Achieve a Million Minutes of Movement in MotUS Challenge
Nov. 13, 2025
University of Central Oklahoma faculty and staff have achieved a remarkable milestone by logging more than one million minutes of physical activity, surpassing the MotUS Million Minutes Challenge goal five months ahead of schedule.
MotUS, derived from the Latin word for “movement” and part of the UCO motto, is a fitness and health initiative designed exclusively for UCO faculty and staff. The program encourages faculty and staff to incorporate regular physical activity into their daily routines as a way to enhance energy, reduce stress and foster connection within the Broncho community.
“Reaching one million minutes of movement five months ahead of schedule is a testament to the strength and dedication of our Broncho community,” said UCO President Todd G. Lamb.
“This milestone isn’t just about fitness. It’s about connection, encouragement and taking care of ourselves and each other through developing healthy habits. I’m so proud of our faculty and staff for making wellness a shared priority.”
Participants have tracked their activity through the YuMuuv app since the challenge began in August 2025. Each month, the initiative features themed challenges, such as STEPtember and Out and About October, designed to keep the campus community motivated and engaged. These challenges include opportunities to earn prizes and recognition while contributing to the shared goal of improving individual and collective well-being.
