UCO College of Business to Host Commercial Real Estate Summit, Oct. 16
Oct. 11, 2024
The University of Central Oklahoma College of Business will host the Commercial Real Estate Summit (CRE Summit) from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16, in the Nigh University Center on Central's campus.
The one-day event fosters collaboration across various sectors of the real estate industry, offering professionals a unique opportunity to engage in discussions and gain valuable insights.
"The Commercial Real Estate Summit serves as a hub for industry professionals, providing opportunities for networking and discussions on the latest trends and challenges," said David Chapman, Ph.D., professor of finance and real estate at Central.
"It also supports education by offering scholarships through the Commercial Real Estate Summit Foundation for students in real estate programs. Participants will see the most innovative commercial real estate vendors and have the opportunity to participate in the real estate job fair."
The summit begins with a keynote address from Jason Ferbrache, assistant city manager for the City of Oklahoma City and interim executive director of the Regional Transit Authority Board.
A luncheon will follow to recognize real estate professionals who have made innovative advances in the real estate industry through a presentation of the Pivot Award. The awards will be presented to a real estate broker, lender, developer, public official, appraiser and journalist. Candidates are nominated by various Oklahoma real estate organizations and the winners are ultimately chosen by the Commercial Real Estate Summit Foundation Board of Directors.
A real estate career fair will be from 2-4 p.m., at the conclusion of the summit.
The CRE Summit has been approved for four hours of HOT Topic continuing education. The ADA session has been approved for three hours of Fair Housing continuing education, is accredited by the American Institute of Architects and provides two learning unit credits in Health, Safety and Welfare.
Those interested in attending the summit can register online at commercialoksummit.org. Registration is $99 for students, $150 for Certified Commercial Investment members and Oklahoma Coalition for Affordable Housing members and $185 for the public. Proceeds will support the continuation of the summit and the UCO Real Estate Program.
