UCO Celebrates Largest Delegation of Presenters at 2025 National Conference on Undergraduate Research
April 15, 2025

The University of Central Oklahoma affirmed its commitment to undergraduate research with the largest delegation presenting at the 2025 National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR). With participation from 49 states, four foreign countries and more than 250 institutions, UCO had more students presenting at NCUR than any other institution at just over 100.
UCO student presenters explored a wide array of topics, reflecting both creativity and academic depth. Presentations included studies involving history, exercise, educational disparities, the effects of stress on student-athletes, biodiversity, aging, design, medicine, trauma and loss, poverty, rural transportation and sustainability.
“NCUR 2025 further established the University of Central Oklahoma as a national leader in undergraduate research. Our students, supported by our outstanding faculty, gave exceptional, inspiring presentations of their work alongside peers from institutions across the country and around the world,” said UCO President Todd G. Lamb.
“At UCO, we are deeply committed to advancing innovative and transformative research at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our efforts expand knowledge and strengthen workforce development, helping to build a stronger future for our state and beyond.”
NCUR is one of the premier conferences in the country that showcases undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activity across all disciplines. Unlike traditional academic conferences, NCUR is specifically designed for student researchers and welcomes participation from institutions of all sizes and types. More than 110 UCO students, faculty and campus leaders represented the university at the conference.
Further underscoring UCO’s national research leadership, the university was recently recognized with a Research Colleges and Universities designation in the 2025 Research Activity Classifications by the American Council on Education and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
