The University of Central Oklahoma celebrated the grand opening of the newly completed Armstrong Family Student Atrium and College of Business addition with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Central’s campus. The project was made possible through a generous gift from alumnus Ronald Armstrong and his wife, Pam, with support from the PACCAR Foundation and the UCO Foundation.

The 7,700-square-foot expansion enhances the existing Business building and features a student lounge with a fireplace, recreation space, study rooms and a state-of-the-art golf simulator room supporting the UCO PGA Professional Golf Management program.

The golf simulator features multiple bays equipped with advanced sensors and dual-camera launch monitor technology, providing instant, high-definition feedback on every swing.

“This new space is a state-of-the-art reflection of the University of Central Oklahoma’s commitment to meeting students where they are and moving them forward. We are leading the way—moving the needle in how we prepare students for the future through collaboration, innovation and hands-on learning. This addition creates the kind of dynamic environment our students deserve and our workforce demands,” said UCO President Todd G. Lamb.

“We are especially grateful to alumnus Ronald Armstrong for his generous gift in making this vision a reality. His investment in our students and our future is a powerful example of the Broncho Spirit in action.”

Armstrong, a 1977 UCO graduate and former CEO of PACCAR Inc., said the space was inspired by similar collaborative environments he experienced at other institutions and reflects his desire to support future generations of students.

“It’s a place for students to connect and collaborate in a way not previously possible in the College of Business,” Armstrong said.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back to the university that played such an important role in my life.”

The addition is part of UCO’s broader efforts to enhance campus facilities and create dynamic learning environments that foster student engagement and career readiness. The College of Business continues to emphasize real-world experiences that prepare students to contribute immediately to Oklahoma’s workforce.

About University of Central Oklahoma

The University of Central Oklahoma is a campus community in motion—leading, innovating and creating transformative learning opportunities that foster success for our students. As Oklahoma’s largest metropolitan university, we provide high-quality, nationally recognized programs that are always evolving and adapting to the needs of our students and the community. This commitment is rooted in our founding in 1890 as the state’s teacher’s college, training those who would educate the next generation of leaders and innovators. We remain dedicated to offering an accessible, affordable education, earning national accolades for social mobility, veterans’ outreach and first-generation student programs.

Guided by the motto “ubi motus est” – which translates to “where movement is” – the university continues to evolve and grow, offering 119 undergraduate and 81 graduate programs to our more than 12,000 students from our main campus in Edmond, Oklahoma, and facilities throughout the Oklahoma City metro. Our colors were the first adopted of any university in the state, and our Bronze and Blue symbolize our greatest strengths—the illumination of new ideas and the endless expanse of a clear sky above. At UCO, anything is possible.

The university is governed by the Regional University System of Oklahoma Board of Regents and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
